Week 2 Social Media

Social media permeates every aspect of our lives it seems, and we're always looking for ways to connect our ways further with it. Facebook may be the reigning champ for now, but no matter what fades in or out, social media as a whole is here to stay. So why not make it easier to find out what you're friends are doing, all just by looking at you're wrist. Now that's innovation. Less work more play, that's my mantra. Of course the implications of such a device could easily be used for evil, such as goofing off at work, but barring that, imagine having access to an entire virtual world, or worlds strapped to your arm. Remember, social media doesn't atop at Facebook and twitter. Imagine being able to link any kind of online account to this device, Playstation Network, Xbox live, Neopets, any online service available can be linked to this device to stream and receive instant updates. Now your mind is blown, I know.
Obviously the physical aspects of a watch, keep the abilities of such a device to a minimum, you won't be playing fully 3D games, but you will be able to check your online friends on Xbox Live and set up a game of Call of Duty by the time you get home. It's all convenience, whether you're a high powered businessman, always on the move, or a trendsetter yourself... well convenience, and not looking like a hack. And with this watch, both of those goals are covered. the best inventions throughout history, are those that utilize already existing resources, and I plan on mining the as of yet undiscovered potential of social media, the new black gold of the technology sector.
Another aspect of utilizing social media, is that it allows for consumers to have a direct hand in what exactly they want to see as the product evolves, as any successful thing in nature can only survive by evolving, so to shall we.
